Boni de Souza is a pianist from Singapore whose jazz debut album “Eau de Vie” was re-released as a 21st Anniversary Album. The title track Eau de Vie was chosen as song of the day in July 2021 and the album hit No 1 on the new releases chart in JAZZIZ Magazine. He has composed various jazz originals like Eau de Vie, Bossa for You, Baroque Chaser, Wanna make you happy, B is for Bossa, Cool Breeze, Anxious as well as inspirational songs like Blessings & Wishes – used in the album “Cantate Domino”. Between 1995-2001 he performed with jazz bassist Victor Gaskin who lived in Singapore till 2008. Boni is also known as an arranger-producer for various local artistes. In 2021 he released 3 albums - jUST jAZZ jIVE in January feat vocalist Richard Jackson and Flautist Wendy Low, Spring is Here feat Boni de Souza with Strings and Twist on Classics featuring classical tunes given a fresh arrangement by Boni. He continues to be a well established music educator in Singapore having spent more than 16 years as a senior teacher in Yamaha Music as well as producing National Arts Council endorsed Arts Education Programs for schools and colleges since 2004. Boni is presently working on a Piano Workbook as well as furthering his pedagogical studies in the MA program at La Salle College of the Arts.
