Born: December 18, 1955

Chris DeVito is a jazz pianist, leader and educator born and based in the greater New York City metropolitan area. Chris earliest jazz influences were his grandfathers, one a jazz bassist and the other a stride pianist. Chris began playing piano since he was three years old. Besides his regular trio with Dave Kingsnorth and Greg Sundel, Chris has also performed with the Frank Grasso Quintet, Spirit of Life Ensemble, Curtis Lundy, Michael Logon, Chris Berger, Tom Pietrycha, Greg Grispart among many others. He also conducted a series of solo piano concerts and lectures for the 125th birthday of stride pianist James P. Johnson sponsored. Chris is the founder of Blue Truffle Music, LLC, dedicated to the “Art of Fine Jazz” and is the treasurer of the New Brunswick Jazz Project.
