Diego Perugini
Diego Perugini was born in Sarteano (Siena, Italy) the 23rd of march 1976. When he was 6 years old he began musical studies at the music school of his small town. At 8 he joined the citizen's band as clarinetist and won an european contest (in Germany). When he was 13 his elder brother brought at home a classical guitar and a new love was born: during the Christmas holidays he learned all basic chords and the next year he was ready for his first electric guitar. After an initial period as self-taught, he studied in parallel classic and electric guitar. In 1993 he began to study jazz music in Milan (“CPM”) and in Siena (“Siena Jazz Foundation”); in 1996 he won an european limited-number scholarship obtaining the certificate “Highly qualified jazz professional player”.
He played in several youth bands exploring music and different genres. After developing a sound and a personal style he played as sideman with many italian (and not only) artists: Sarah Jane Morris, Cesare Cremonini, Simona Bencini, Anna Oxa and many others. Now he keeps doing music as sideman and in the meantime produces his own music and offers his skills to song-writers who need arrangements for their songs.
“Acoustic Fusion” This is his debut and self-produced album.
