Submission Guidelines
All About Jazz is about the music and the people who make it.
Thank you for contributing to All About Jazz (AAJ), the leading music website covering the past, present and future of jazz music.
We have assembled these guidelines to help maintain effective communication and stylistic uniformity throughout the website. We're also hoping that you can use the information in this section to enrich your writing and to ensure that AAJ is as much a good fit for you as you are a good fit for AAJ.
These submission guidelines are meant to be taken as advice and not as hard-and-fast rules. We strive for the joint goal of effective writing and consistent content. At the same time, we also want to ensure that you enjoy the process.
It's important that every writer cultivate his or her own individual approach to writing, while the overall body of writing at AAJ maintains a stylistic coherence. Above all, we'd like everyone to maintain a level of professionalism by avoiding first person references and excessive personalization as we are not a blog.
Lastly, approach the music and the artists with respect: always keep an open mind and a critical eye.
