The single Gånglåt från Halland from Daniel Stahre's forthcoming album Margin Call II is released—a melodic sequel with a Nordic sound.
Gothenburg pianist Daniel Stahre released the Dolby Atmos single Gånglåt från Halland" on April 24, 2024. In May 2024, the second single Swinging" will be released ahead of the forthcoming album Margin Call II—an instrumental fusion of contemporary, jazz and pop.
The musicians once again include members of Little Dragon and Franska Trion, with Viktor Turegård on double bass, Erik Bodin on drums and Martin Freidlitz on electric guitar. First up is the Dolby Atmos single Gånglåt från Halland"—a melodic exploration with associations to Swedish folk music.
'Gånglåt från Halland' translates to a Swedish walking song and is inspired by everyday life. It is a nod to the generations who have gone before us. The music becomes meaningful and personal, honoring the forgotten everyday stories from previous generations," says Daniel.
On May 24, the Dolby Atmos single Swinging" will be released—a rhythmic exposé inspired by the cyclical movements that recur in nature.
Cyclical movements become visible in the world of finance in concepts such as swing trades, cycle theory and fractal theory. Throughout history, we seem to constantly follow the same pattern: we overleverage ourselves with a lack of productivity growth with subsequent crises, inflation and wars. A rocking motion that feels deeply human.
Margin Call is the album series in which Daniel, with self-written songs, takes the space to reflect on the present with great musical freedom, modesty and warmth.
Margin Call—covering a loss or being forced to sell—is the perfect concept to illustrate the idea of an end point. The concept encompasses over-leveraging, climate crisis and corruption. We act belatedly or weakly—only when the party ends do we seem to want to act," Daniel concludes.
The album Margin Call II will be released digitally on June 24, 2024. The Dolby Atmos singles Gånglåt från Halland" was released on April 25 and Swinging" on May 24 on all digital music platforms.
