Julian Antonio Gutierrez Vinardell

Description: Julian Gutierrez is originally from Holguín, Cuba where he received an academic musical education of the highest level possible. He is the heir to a family musical tradition. At the start of his professional career, he toured Europe, Mexico and the United States with the group Mezcla, then arrived in Quebec in 2001. He earned a bachelor's degree in jazz from the University of Sherbrooke, then a master's degree and a doctorate in jazz. at Laval University, which immersed him in the musical reality of Quebec, making him friends with many of his musicians from the world of jazz. He shared the stage with Jean-Pierre Zanella, Paul Brochu, Alain Labrosse, Mohamed Abdoul Al Khabir, Jacek kochan among others. He meets Jean-François Martel (originally from Victoriaville) Axel Bonnaire (originally from Guadeloupe) and Eugenio 'Kiko' Osorio master percussionist of Cuban origin and plunges back into Jazz with constantly renewed pleasure. The sound of Julian Gutierrez's project is at the crossroads of modernity and tradition, spiced with a hint of what is called the "Gran Caribe"

À propos de Julian Gutierrez: Il est originaire de Holguín, Cuba où il a fait une formation musicale académique du plus haut niveau qui soit. Il est l’héritier d’une tradition musicale familiale. Au début de sa carrière professionnelle, il tourne en Europe, Mexique et aux États-Unis avec le groupe Mezcla puis arrive à Québec l’année 2001. Il a un Baccalauréat en jazz à l'Université de Sherbrooke, puis Maîtrise et Doctorat en jazz à l’Université de Laval, ce qui l’a plongé dans la réalité musicale du Québec, le liant d’amitié avec de nombreux.ses musiciens du monde du jazz. Il a partagé la scène avec Jean-Pierre Zanella, Paul Brochu, Alain Labrosse, Mohamed Abdoul Al Khabir, Jacek Kochan entre autres.  

Il rencontre Jean-François Martel (originaire de Victoriaville) Axel Bonnaire (originaire de Guadeloupe) et Eugenio ‘Kiko’’ Osorio maître percussionniste d’origine cubain et replonge avec un plaisir sans cesse renouvelé dans le Jazz. La sonorité du Julian Gutierrez’s projet est à la croisée de la modernité et de la tradition, épicé avec un soupçon de ce qu’on appelle le ‘’Gran Caribe’’
