Mats Monstad
Mats Monstad is a jazz drummer, percussionist and composer who started playing drums and percussion at the age of 13. He was first introduced to jazz at the age of 15, through records by Miles Davis and John Coltrane, and later became very inspired by the avant-garde jazz of the 60s. He is a educated jazz musician in Norway at the University of Stavanger's department of fine arts, and has worked as a freelance musician since 2003.
Mats has played with many of the most respected musicians in Norway, Europe and the USA. He has toured both at home and abroad with several projects, in jazz, rock and several other musical genres.
