My Jazz Story

I was first exposed to jazz...by my parents. We had Mingus and Miles and Monk on all the time growing up. The best show I ever attended was...Too many bests...David Murray Octet circa 1980, Charlie Haden and Don Cherry duet in a loft concert(which I found out about from a hand written note on the door of the loft) around the same time. I loved a show from last year...Jonathan Blake at the Jazz Gallery introducing his new recording. My advice to new listeners...Patience. Listen to the WKCR 89.9 birthday broadcasts. Or whatever else you have in mind.
