About Me
My first brush with jazz was creeping down the stairs of the basement where my dad would play George Benson, Duke Ellington and Oscar Peterson. I recall taking his copy of Miles Davis at Fillmore and playing it on my record player. The music was so wild and crazy it scared me off of jazz for the next 15 years! Today, I realize appreciation of jazz has to be cultivated like appreciating a good wine when you're used to Kool-Aid. Jazz isn't dead. It's just waiting for another generation to discover it.
My ArticlesMy Jazz Story
My advice to new listeners...don't let anyone tell you the music you like is "wrong" and what they like is "right." Don't follow the herd. Go your own way. That's what jazz is all about.
