My Jazz Story

I was first exposed to jazz when I was born (my father listened to jazz all the time). When I was 10 my father brought me to a concert by Ornette Coleman. Nice way to start... I met lots of musicians: Joe Henderson, Johnny Griffin, Ornette Coleman, Steve Coleman, Gerry Mulligan, Archie Sheep, Michel Petrucciani, Tony Scott, Dave Holland, and many others. I attended a workshop with Lee Konitz (I used to play alto). The best show I ever attended was? I don't know. I loved Cassandra Wilson, Steve Coleman, and recently James Brandon Lewis. Ah.. a wonderful duo: Jack Dejohnette and John Surman
