My Jazz Story

I love jazz because I can’t help it!!. It’s a vibe that draws me in. Must have my jazz playing everyday, all day! I was first exposed to jazz while being conceived. My father was a professional jazz musician & mother was a jazz singer. Double love for the craft! I met John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Clark Terry, Nancy Wilson, Diane Reeves, The Adderley Brothers, Abby Lincoln, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Lionel Hampton, Ernestine Anderson, Ahmad Jamal & so many more The best show I ever attended was Lady Nancy Wilson in Vegas at her finest! Also, Kool & the Gang(the jazz version of the group) in Okmulgee, OK. Just amazing! The first jazz record I bought was Miles Davis-Sketches of Spain My advice to new listeners -. Be open to different types of jazz, there’s many flavors & a world of knowledge in every tune. JAZZ IS A LIFESTYLE! Not for the faint at heart????
