Mercedes Mahlatse Boshego

Mercedes Mahlatse Boshego commonly known as 

Mr. Mercedes is a music producer/Maker from 

South Africa, born in Johannesburg 1989 and 

moved to be raised in Tshwane on the dusty 

streets of Soshanguve. 

His journey in music started when he was 5 when 

he discovered his love for keys after persistently 

asking for 1. Then he taught himself year by year 

getting better till he decided to go a bit deeper into 

production. At age 14 he met up with the late DJ 

Killah who introduced him into the industry. Then 

Mercedes went and studied music production at 

Emendy College when he got reunited with current 

leader of Afrikan Roots where they both studies 

music production. Shortly After that Mr. Mercedes 

obtained employment at the very same college, 

Handling studio work, Equipment sales and Music 

production classes. A year after that Mr. Mercedes 

decided to go and study further in Cape Town at 

SAE Institute. while he was studying, he got the 

opportunity to session and Mix Tahnee McKay,

first album from Australia. Then later joined a Jazz 

Band called Happy Hour playing keys and directing 

some of the music.

Due to lack of funds, Mercedes had to head back 

to Pretoria where he reunited with Black Motion 

to play keys in some of their music, Then Joined 

Afrikan Roots as an official member producing and 

Playing live Keys.

Realising that his production doesn’t only end In 

House music. He pursued a solo career a year ago. 

Since then. He has co-produced many hits from 

Artists like:

Mr. Mercedes has recently started releasing his 

own music under his name. First release an 

instrumental EP called The Tale which has some 

songs playing in South Africa and overseas.

Mr. Mercedes has had various

performances in and out of South Africa including 

England, Angola, Portugal, Namibia, etc. with a

great reputation for his production of music and an 

extraordinary piano playing talent. When it comes 

to music, Mr. Mercedes believes in the Best or 

Nothing where every musical project he puts

out says nothing less of his talent. Music has always 

been his passion where he fully executes his talent 

and hopes to instill this in creatives that aim to 

achieve the same potential.

He recently released a single titled Friend Zone

scoring a feature with the Lovely Venessa Jackson. 

Which is #1 in some digital platforms. . .
