“Orlando is a very talented and mature player, with much passion for playing and developing his craft.”  --Ted Nash, saxophonist with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

“Orlando has an uncanny ability to capture the essence of a tune he is improvising on with a few memorable phrases that he delivers with utmost conviction and musicality. Never resorting to merely playing “over the changes,” Orlando always finds new and refreshing ways to connect with the tune. As a result, his improvisations exhibit structural coherence, harmonic inventiveness, melodic ingenuity, and rhythmic originality; those coalesce into a unified whole and demonstrate a high level of artistry and musical maturity.” --Dariusz Terefenko, professor at Eastman School of Music
