Richard Szaniszlo
Jazz vibraphonist Richárd Szaniszló has been present in the Hungarian jazz scene since 1998, and since then he has played with almost every major Hungarian jazz musician - nearly a hundred -. He is a regular performer at Magyar Rádió, clubs and festivals, as well as with his own bands marked by his name, such as as a band member or as a studio musician on records.
He played with artists such as AL DI MEOLA, MAKOTO OZONE (Gary Burton's pianist), Michael Urbaniak, Imre Kőszegi, jr. Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, Pál Vasvári, David Friedman, Michael Stewart, Gábor Cseke, Csaba Deseö, Gergő Borlai.
In the past more than 20 years, he has mostly given concerts with his fusion band, piano vibraphone duo, and trios, always with his own compositions as an active composer. His first album was released on the American Soron Records in 2008 under the title Hands of Passion.
He is a member of the Vibratone Quartet, the Red Stones Quartet, and the Bögöthy Trio.
He received his current instrument, the Musser M55 vibraphone, as a gift from jazz vibraphonist David Friedman in 2019.
Since 2020, he has been an artist of the American Vic Firth percussion company.
Since September 2022, it has become an endorser of the American company Ludwig-Musser.
