Andrew Pokaz

Founded in 2016 in Odesa by academic pianist and composer Andrii Pokaz, the band put a start for a new wave of contemporary jazz in Ukraine. The trio successfully combines jazz, classical and ethnic music with electronic additions.
Since 2017 the band is a resident of the leading jazz events in Ukraine (Leopolis Jazz Festival, Koktebel Jazz, etc.), takes part in jazz festivals over Europe: Poland (Bielska Zadymka Jazowa, Inne Brzmienia, etc.), Lithuania (Klaipeda Castle Jazz, Siauliai Jazz), Spain (Canarias Jazz & Más), Portugal (Outono em Jazz), Estonia (Jazzkaar) and others.
Pokaz Trio performed at Casa da Musica (Porto), BIMHUIS (Amsterdam), Matisse Jazz Club (Valencia), ZigZag (Berlin) and other jazz venues around Europe. Its first album was released on the Norwegian jazz label Losen Records in June, 2019. The album was featured in the list of recommended recordings of Europe Jazz Media Chart.
