A Timeline that brings us to Now

1995: Claudia Hommel with music director/pianist Bob Moreen offer, on tour and in the Chicago area, the first “Cabaret in the Classroom” performances of Souvenirs of Paris, 1950; master classes for high school musicians; and That’s What Makes Paris Paree for elementary schools .

1997: Claudia Hommel initiates a series of discussions among cabaret performers, asking “Can we create a cabaret scene in Chicago?” The membership-based Chicago Cabaret Professionals is organized in 1998 as a nonprofit organization to advocate the art of cabaret.

Russ Lorenson

Linda Kosut, a cabaret/jazz singer swings jazz, pop and folk, easily sings a repertoire from the standard to the obscure with fresh interpretations. Linda has performed over the years in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Seattle. She grew up in the Bronx (NY), and as she tells it, had a lifelong dream of singing and performing - yet she did not make that into reality until “later in life.” Since making that shift, and “putting one foot in front of the other, I have created opportunities and achieved a success with my music that I did not think was possible.”

Darcy Cooke is a classically trained jazz vocalist who has been performing nearly all her life. Joy Reo

In 2014, Joy launched her career as a part-time professional jazz vocalist, performing with the Joy Reo Trio in Boston area venues such as Concord’s Colonial Inn, The Bull Run, and the Acton Jazz Cafe. The Joy Reo Trio is a cabaret jazz band in metro Boston that features soulful, sassy and classy songs that range from 1920s show tunes to 1940s jazz standards and 2010s pop hits. Vocalist Joy Reo is accompanied by the marvelous Molly Flannery on piano, and the divine Diane Heffner on clarinet and saxophone. Flannery has a distinctive fluidity on the piano, with her melodic improvisations, and an ability to groove in jazz, Latin, and Brazilian idioms

Jennifer Roberts

Jennifer is an accomplished Singer and Actress, with a Musical Theatre background, and experience in television and film. She is a classically-trained vocalist, who “excels at ballads, and in a jazz or swing mode, and can even have fun with country ” – William Wolf. With a BFA in Theatre from Wayne State University, she later studied acting with Uta Hagen.
