Each month we'll pair two recent jazz CDs with the latest releases from the AAJ Wine Club . This month we're pairing Rancho Sisquoc Winery's Cabernet Sauvignon with Moacir Santos's Ouro Negro and Cosentino Winery's Meritage White with George Shearing's Like Fine Wine.

Varietal: 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 6% Malbec
Appellation: Santa Barbara County

Total Acidity: 0.69
Alcohol Content: 14.4%
Residual Sugar: 0%

Winemaker's Notes: This Cabernet is deep ruby in color with high viscosity and brilliant clarity. Aromas of blackberry, leather, and oak dominate leading to a palate of dried fruits, spice and vanilla. Tannins are smooth and the finish is clean.

Cosentino Winery
"The Novelist" Meritage White

Specifications
Appellation: California
Varietal: 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon

Winemaker's Notes: 75% barrel fermented and aged for seven months on the lees in French oak barrels custom designed for Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Floral notes, lemon peel, lime and honeydew melon in the nose. Rich, creamy and full yet balanced with layers of citrus in the mouth. A long, rich finish ripe with pear.
